A person read every profile here before it went live. You see his photos; he sees yours only after you approve him. Your phone and email are never shown to anyone. About 70,000 Australians were born in Fiji, the large majority of them Fiji Indian, concentrated in western Sydney and in Melbourne’s outer south-east.
Fiji Indian families get folded into “Indian” on every other matrimonial site, which is useless when Fiji Hindi is the language at home and the family has not lived in India for four generations. - Visible to every verified member, only to people who match your preferences, or to nobody but your matchmaker. The default is preferences-only, and there are no public profile pages for anyone. Search engines never see a member.
- Read by a person, or invisible
- Someone reads every profile before it goes live. Until it passes you cannot search and nobody can find you. No bots, no recycled photos, no profile made in two minutes.
- An ID check if you want one
- Photograph your passport or licence and then your face, and your profile carries a verified badge. It takes about a minute, it costs nothing, and it is entirely optional — we are not asking anyone to hand over a document just to look around.
- A matchmaker, never from your city
- Australian members are looked after by matchmakers based in Auckland and in other Australian cities, never their own. She will not run into you at a wedding. Free for women; on the Vichola tier ($1200/month) she searches and approaches on a man’s behalf.

Is Rishta open in Australia?
Yes. Australia is one of our opening countries. Women can join free today; men join the waitlist and verify when introductions begin, and billing starts only then.
How is this different from Shaadi.com for Fiji Indian families in Australia?
Three ways. A person reads every profile before it goes live. Women decide who can find them, and their photos are hidden until they approve someone. And no phone number or email is ever displayed on a profile, at any membership level. There is a longer comparison at /rishta-vs-shaadi.
Do women pay?
Not to search, be found, add photos, send interests, message or call. That is free for women permanently, and men pay for the same things. A matchmaker working on your behalf is a separate paid service for everyone, because that is a person’s time.
Can my parents be involved?
Yes. Family can pay for a son’s membership, can see a Family View page you choose the contents of, and can speak to your matchmaker with your consent. What they can’t do is create or run a profile for someone who hasn’t agreed to it.
Can I filter by community and mother tongue?
Yes. Mother tongue, religion, community (with “caste no bar” always available), diet, family origin and residency status are all filters, and any of them can be a must-have.
A note from the founder
I spent six months on a paid plan on the biggest matrimonial site in the world, searching honestly for someone to marry from here. I found roughly ten men for every woman, a paid plan that produced nothing, and a fake profile I could make in minutes.
Rishta is what I wished had existed: women free with nothing held back, photos hidden until she says yes, every profile read by a person before it goes live, every interest written by hand, no phone numbers on the page, and a matchmaker who is never from your own town. I built it because I am looking too.
